       Five-Element Acupuncture

Treatments for men, women and children

Five-Element Acupuncture is rooted in the observations of nature's cycles and its ability to seek out balance. Our own bodies also naturally attempt to find an internal balance in order to exist in harmony and optimal health. Acupuncture is a drug-free medicine that treats the whole person by discovering the root cause of imbalance and the way it uniquely manifests in each person on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level. Acupuncture's holistic approach not only focuses on your primary concerns, but also enhances your ability to flourish and maintain deep and lasting health.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes the use of acupuncture to be effective in a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions including:

Muscular/Joint pain, Anxiety and Depression, Digestive Disorders, Back Pain, Sleeping Problems, Infertility, Menstrual Problems, Respiratory Disorders, and other symptoms.

As obstructions to this energy are cleared, the Qi is allowed to flow freely and the body is better able to find an internal balance that promotes natural healing, reduce pain, and improved functioning. Most patients find treatments to be very relaxing and rejuvenating. It is also common to fall asleep or experience a soothing meditative state of mind.

What happens in a treatment?

Treatment involves inserting tiny thin needles into points, or "gateways," located on the surface of the skin. The goal is to assist in the movement of "Qi," or an individual's energetic life force that

How many treatments do I need?

Each patient is different. The initial phase of this drug-free treatment plan is usually between 4-10 consecutive visits. The length of treatment depends on how long the condition has been present and

how quickly the patient responds to treatment. Generally if a condition is quite recent and acute, patients respond faster than if something has been chronic.

Do the acupuncture needles hurt?

Acupuncture needles are tiny, thin, and flexible, about the size of a cat's whisker. Once the needles are inserted, some patients may experience a mild tingling or a sensation of fullness, along with an increased sense of relaxation. These are all quite normal and suggest the treatment is working.
